Mike and Mylon at Art Pickens. June 2016

Two artists.

Two visions.

One kitchen table and coffee...

A convergence over conversation. Creation.

Red Top Artisans (RTA) was born.

Mylon wanted to use his 30 years of advertising and marketing abilities to create a crafty collective of creatives that would come together online and at events to sell original art and meet other artists, without having to be so self aggrandizing.

In the "percolating" process of creating RTA, Mike revealed his heART’s desire to work with nonprofits, to have monthly auctions, and get students involved.

Thus the two headed art monster came to be.

Our goal?  To art, to help others, and to help others art.

As artists, we pour heart, soul, mind, body and who knows what else into our work. When it is finished, we feel a sense of completion and maybe a bit of pride creeps in there as well. As artists, Mike and Mylon have both had the wonderful experience of being accepted into a gallery and feeling elated, only to feel used when artwork was sold and the compensation was WAY less than expected. (sometimes 60% or MORE!)

Eventually, the uncomfortable business of inflating prices versus creating art gets cumbersome in our pretty little artistic heads and eventually stifles the process of art…

We provide artists a gallery to sell their wares without feeling ripped off. We have come up with a simple percentage as gallery owners.  We collect 20% from all sales from artist. We then contribute 50% to non-profits.

To Art

We love drawing, painting and creating.  We both work in digital formats of art professionally, but putting pen to paper or brush to canvas is just so… art. We love getting lost in the process of it all and would love for you to come art with us at one of the events we attend! For a listing of dates and places, make sure to check out our Facebook page (link) or website. (link)

To Help Others

We as artists have that drive to make the world a better place, starting with our communities. Our contributions to nonprofits are one of the more serious sides of RTA and are documented and shared with all artists who choose to let us represent them first and annually at the following site. We offer an online gallery as well as representation at local art fairs and events to facilitate sales for our consortium of artists.

We are working on an online silent auction for the artists that just want to let the “market” determine the price of work.

We would love to represent you as an artist!  Please contact us via private message on Facebook or email us directly at:
